Heya,
I would like to show you this commercial I worked on:

It was a hard work, because of the tight deadline: I had a week and a half to animate 6 scenes, some of them with multiple characters, and one with eleven crows. Also the creative director asked for several changes during the process... especially for the last scene in which he wanted a particular type of acting, similar to Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.
A goal was to keep the crows realistic and believable and at the same time convey the meaning of the scene, in a short amount of seconds.
The director did a good work in telling a complete story in 30 second, and as a cosequence there was a nice variety of shot to animate... a subjective, a little crowd, a two shot, a close up, a multiple shot.

AM assignment: Staging, main phrases and poses.
Two characters and two shots sequence (the cut is when she sit down).

I translated her in 3d with Bishop, the AM rig. The facial setup is very flexible, and so I was able to recreate all the broad expressions of the hand drawn version in cg.

New term, new mentor

Hi,
Winter term started: Advanced acting... And my new mentor is Mr. Jason Schleifer! I don't think he needs any introductions!

Final week

I Added the last changes... a couple of smear frames and some little tweaks.
And Another AM quarter is gone.
The next quarter is about advanced acting... woooo!
I hope that I will have a mentor as good as Randy!

The whole time, almost final

My assignment is almost complete... I finished the inbetweens, added some squashes and stretches in the cheeks and head so that the mouth doesn't seem sticked on the face, added hair and overlap in clothes, cleaned the dirtier drawings, pushed a little more some mouth shapes and added some distortion-multiple drawings-smears in some quick movements.
This 3d approach with various layered passes forced me do tons of scans... I should think more in 2d!

Today I added almost all the breakdowns and the timing charts.
I also changed something from the last week... some hands positions and the last phrase when she says "don't talk to me"... I think now it's more convincing!
